'I wasn’t out specifically looking for a photograph. I was walking along the quayside and stopped for a coffee. As I sat down, this view immediately caught my attention. What drew me in was the strong symmetry of the walkway and lamp posts, which naturally lead the eye towards the old Baltic Flour Mill, with the sweeping arch of the Millennium Bridge framing the scene. I liked the contrast between the historic industrial building and the modern architecture around it. Converting the image to black and white removes the distraction of colour and emphasises the shapes, textures and dramatic sky, giving the scene a timeless feel. Captured with an Olympus om-d em-1'
